100% PURE FRENCH GREEN CLAY- 1 pound

Green Clay, also known as illite, is an organic powerhouse comprised of iron oxides, decomposed plant material (such as kelp and seaweed), and a host of essential minerals! It was called French Green Clay for centuries, being named after the rock quarries in the south of France that yielded most of the world’s illite deposits, however, our European Green Clay is mined from the pristine shores of Italy! Green Clay is used in alternative health practices for its wealth of benefits, both internally & externally!

European Green Clay is helpful when used internally for individuals suffering from:

  • Ulcers/heartburn
  • Iron deficiency
  • Diarrhea/constipation
  • Parasites
  • Heartburn/Reflux
  • Stomach bugs
  • Intestinal disorders
  • pH imbalance
  • Mineral deficiencies
  • Heavy metal toxicity
  • Irritability/mood swings
  • Toxicity due to chemicals or poisons

French Green Clay: Vital Minerals

The mineral content of Green Clay is extraordinary, including but not limited to: calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, zinc, silicon, selenium, iron, copper, and cobalt. Drinking a clay and water mixture delivers these mineral nutrients to the body, while simultaneously removing dangerous toxins like heavy metals, free radicals, and environmental pollutants. Raymond Dextreit, a French naturopath, claimed that the minerals in Green Clay provide natural power: copper battles infections, selenium boosts liver function, cobalt benefits blood disorders, and all the minerals together work to slow the aging process and balance the body’s natural equilibrium!

French Green Clay is helpful when used externally for individuals suffering from:

  • Burns/cuts/scrapes
  • Unwanted cell growth
  • Almost all skin conditions
  • Painful, swollen joints
  • Poor gum or dental health
  • Unsightly scar tissue
  • Ulcers or tunneling wounds
  • Rashes including poison ivy, oak, and sumac
  • Acute injuries such as sprains and strains
  • Bug, spider, or snake bites or stings
  • Fungal growths

French Green Clay for First Aid:
As a soothing, repairing balm for cuts, scrapes, small wounds, sprains, minor burns, insect bites, and aching muscles, Green Clay can be made into a poultice and applied directly to the affected area. The clay works for cuts, scrapes, and wounds by drawing out the infection. It is said to be comforting for aching muscles and joints, especially when combined with the essential oils of rosemary or lavender. To make a first aid paste, pour 1/4 cup pure water into a glass bowl and sprinkle clay on top until a nice paste consistency is formed. Make sure it is dry enough to hold form but moist enough to not dry out. Apply to the area and cover so that it retains moisture. DO NOT let the clay dry out. After 2-4 hours, remove the poultice and gently rinse if not too painful. Wait two hours and then repeat.

When individuals with severe burns had the burned area covered with a poultice of clay, each one noticed immediate relief, with some claiming the pain had subsided completely. In addition, when having the entire body covered in burns, laying in a clay bath provided dramatic results! Burn victims reported a major relief of pain and faster wound repair with less scarring than with conventional methods.

French Green Clay as a Beautifying Agent
The absorbent properties of Green Clay work in beauty treatments by drawing out impurities and toxins from the skin, toning and firming it and stimulating circulation. Estheticians use it to tighten pores, exfoliate dead skin, and reveal a smoother, fresher complexion. It is known to clear problem skin and fix blemishes, usually in the form of a clay mask. If you have a dry or sensitive skin complexion, you should use a clay mask only once a week, as the clay will absorb moisture from the skin along with any impurities.

To make a clay mask at home, put 1 tablespoon of clay in a glass bowl and add pure water a little at a time until thick paste forms. Be careful not to add too much water or it will be too thin. After the clay and water are mixed well: if your skin is sensitive add 1/2 teaspoon of Aloe Vera juice, if it is oily add 4 or 5 drops of jojoba oil, or if your skin is dry add 6-8 drops of olive oil and mix well. Using your fingers, gently apply the clay mask to your face or body. For maximum benefits, allow the mask to dry for about 20 minutes or until almost dry. Rinse thoroughly with warm water and pat the skin dry.
